1) Pls include your email address on your submission.

2) Pls know we consider valuable the personal feedback we try to give all submissions because: a) it prevents you from submitting consecutive mss with the same crucial weakness (thus, it saves you time & $); b) it takes time that we could use instead to write our own fiction or to freelance-edit fiction manuscripts for pay (which we've done for numerous widely published authors, some of them critically acclaimed bestsellers). If you don't appreciate our personal feedback (which, if we turn down your ms, will tell you candidly about some of its strengths & candidly about why we turned it down), or your ego can't handle hearing about why we think readers from all walks of life might not say, "Wow, what a story!" about a manuscript of yours, or you want nothing but praise for your manuscripts when they're not yet as reader-friendly as can be, pls don't submit to us.

3) Pls know that we edit the stories we buy thoroughly with one goal in mind: making every word of every COOLEST AMERICAN STORIES story as compelling as possible in the hearts of readers from all walks of life--so it's not uncommon for us to make dozens of line-edits in a ms we've signed and suggest several macro-level changes. If you think your "artistic vision"--or your ego--is more important than that one primary goal, or you don't share that goal as your primary goal, too, pls don't submit to us in the first place.

Thank you for reading and considering the above. & good luck!
